Pearl Harbor is absolutely breathtaking! I'm sure you have read and learned about Pearl Harbor in any United States history classes; and I know you have seen pictures of the USS Arizona. You have probably even seen the movie Pearl Harbor (one of my personal favorites). But I promise you, that none of those will do this place justice. I'm not a huge history geek, in fact it usually bores me to sleep, but WWII is, in my opinion the most interesting event in history to learn about!

When you first arrive, after purchasing your tickets, you move to an auditorium. They show a video explaining all the actions that took place on December 7, 1941. After which you board a small boat to ferry you to the Arizona Memorial.

The view of the memorial is incredible, but the views from inside of the memorial are even more unbelievable. As most of you know, the USS Arizona experienced the most casualties of all the naval ships in the lagoon that day. It marks the resting place of 1,102 of the 1,177 Sailors and Marines killed on USS Arizona. They are entombed in the ship, which can actually be seen from memorial.

Something else that I found interesting is that survivor veterans of the USS Arizona, after they die, are given the opportunity to have their ashes placed and entombed with their brothers in arms, who fell all those years ago. Here are some more pictures I took during my visit, and a link below, if you want to read more about the history of Pearl Harbor from people who can explain it MUCH better than me.
